The Barça number 7 synonymous with goals

Antoine Griezmann is the new owner of a shirt number worn in the past by the likes of Saviola, Larsson, David Villa and Pedro

We would say that the Barça number 7 means goals. Now it is the turn of Antoine Griezmann, third top scorer last season for the blaugranes to become the latest occupant.

We take a quick look at some previous owners of the shirt.

 Luis Figo (1995-2000)

With the number 7 on his back the Portuguese winger scored 45 goals in 249 games.

Alfonso Pérez (2000-2001)

In his short stay with Barça the Madrid born striker wore the number 7 before passing it on to Javier Saviola.

En su paso efímero por el FC Barcelona, el delantero madrileño fue el propietario del dorsal 7 durante un curso; en el siguiente año de azulgrana, le pasaría el relevo a Saviola.

Javier Saviola (2001-2004)

In the summer of 2001 the Argentine arrived from River Plate. The striker donned the number 7 shirt and scored 60 goals in 146 matches as a Barça player.

Henrik Larsson (2004-2006)

The man who is now second assistant coach to Ronald Koeman wore the number 7 in his spell at Barça as a player. 19 goals in 54 appearances was his record in the shirt.

Pedro Rodríguez (2013-2015)

After the departure of David Villa, Pedro swapped the number 17 for the number 7. In 105 appearances he found the net 31 times.
