- On 6 October 2021, Gavi became the youngest player ever to debut for Spain when he faced Italy in the UEFA Nations League semi-final.
- On 5 June 2022, his goal against the Czech Republic made him the youngest player ever to score fort Spain, even younger than Ansu Fati.
- In his debut season, Gavi made 47 appearances across five competitions.
- Of those 47 games, he started 36, totalling over 3,000 minutes.
- In his first pro season in La Liga, he returned two goals and five assists.
