Leo Messi continues breaking records, season after season. This year he claimed another European Golden Shoe award, thanks to the 34 goals he scored in the 2017/18 LaLiga season.
That prolific campaign began with a brace on Matchday 2 against Alavés, and the flood of goals never stopped before the end of the season. The FC Barcelona striker earned his fifth Golden Shoe -awarded to the top marksman from the top European leagues- as a result, more than any other player in history. His closest rivals in 2017/18 were Mohamed Salah (32) and Harry Kane (32).
