Spain qualify for the European Championship Round of 16

The Spanish team beat Slovakia 5-0 in a great game and will face Croatia in the next round

The Spanish team are into the European Championship Round of 16 after beating Slovakia 5-0. Luis Enrique's side, with Eric García, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Pedri all starting, qualified as second in the group after Sweden's victory over Poland, and will face Croatia next.

Both Eric García and Sergio Busquets played their first minutes in this edition of the tournament, and both were substituted in the 70th minute. Sergio, captain of the national team, returned after his Covid-19 issue, and for their part, Jordi Alba and Pedri played their third consecutive game and all 90 minutes of the match.

The Spanish team were able to overcome a difficult start to the game after Morata missed a penalty. An own goal by the Slovakian goalkeeper served to open the scoring, and then a header from Laporte paved the way for Luis Enrique's men to record a famous victory.

The game was ended as a contest with three goals in 15 minutes. Sarabia, after excellent work by Jordi Alba, Ferrán Torres and another own goal completed the scoring.
